Maybe it’s true that a goal never dies, but our execution of the goal gets lost in the minutiae of everyday life. As we get closer to the start of a new year, it’s important for us to get reflective. So I had the lyric above from Radiohead’s “Paranoid Android” stuck in my head, and it got me thinking. How often do we just lose ourselves for a minute? Those minutes are symbolic of time that we’ve lost…time that we could be pushing forward…time that we could focus on what’s important…time that we can’t get back.
Let’s take a piece of practical advice together…what if we just took 2 minutes out of every day to recalibrate ourselves on the purpose we’ve been called to perform? Just 2 minutes on a consistent basis puts us in a much better position to not “lose ourselves”.
Don’t let the minutes turn to hours turn to days turn to decades. Life has a way of lulling us to sleep unless we fight it.
I’ve lost a lot of minutes…but the best thing is life is a patient person’s game…I plan on coming out on top. I know you can too.
